Lucinda Jane HINES (nee CALLAWAY) daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ruff CALLAWAY, was born September 28,1889, near Moscow Mills, and departed this life July 23, 1944, at Moscow Mills at the age of 55 years, 3 months and 28 days. She was united in marriage to J.T. HINES, October 12,1910 by Rev. Maupin. To this union was born six children: John, who preceded her in death several years ago; Margaret, now Mrs. Arion LEADBETTER, of Moscow Mills; Elizabeth, now Mrs. Wylie WILSON, of St. Charles; and Guy, who is somewhere in service for Uncle Sam. She was left motherless at age of 9 months, when for a year and a half she was so tenderly cared for by her grandmother, Mrs. Jane THORNHILL. Then she was taken into the home of her Uncle and aunt, Jake and Katie THORNHILL, who cared for her until she grew to womanhood. She spent her entire life in and near the community in which she was born. Too much cannot be said of sister Lucinda as a most loving wife, a loyal mother, a kind neighbor and as a genuine Christian character. During her illness she was never known to complain of her affliction, every ready to suffer grief or pain; ready to stand the test; ready to go; ready to bear; ready to watch and pray. One of her favorite songs was "When I Take My Vacation In Heaven". She was baptized into the Pentecostal Faith in 1927 and was faithful in the service of her Lord. Funeral services were held from Moscow Mills Methodist church July 25, by Bro. Walter Guinn, of St. Louis. Interment was made in the Thornhill Cemetery. -------Contributed.
