Obituary for Lulu Vee Heitman (1924-2003)

Lulu Vea HEITMAN, 78, of Hawk Point, died Friday, June 20, 2003, at St. Anthony's Medical Center in south St. Louis County.

Mrs. HEITMAN had worked for the Gossard Garment Factory in Troy and was a homemaker. She was a member of VFW Ladies Auxiliary 7560 and St. Mary’s Catholic Church, both in Hawk Point.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. today, June 24, at Kemper-Marsh-Millard Chapel, 351 Monroe Street, Troy. Burial will be at Friedens Cemetery on Highway 61, Moscow Mills.

She was born Aug. 18, 1924, in Moscow Mills to Reed Ernest POWELSON and Viola WEITKAMP. She was married on Nov. 19, 1949, at the Sacred Heart Church in Troy, to Clarence J. HEITMAN. He preceded her in death June 17, 1995.

Survivors include two sons, William E. HEITMAN of Wright City and Donald J. HEITMAN and wife, Ann, of Troy; three daughters, Doris Ann PRESLEY and husband, Gene of Hawk Point, Barbara Jean HEITMAN of St. Louis and Joann Marie COOLEY and husband, Gary, of High Ridge; two brothers, Louis POWELSON of St. Charles and Bill POWELSON of Moscow Mills; one sister, Carolyn WERMUTH of Troy; and eight grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and one grandchild.

Visitation was held from 4 to 8 p.m. on June 23 at the Kemper-Marsh-Millard Family Funeral Home/Troy Chapel.
