Alberta HARRELL, daughter of James and Mary E. GOODRICH, was born July 8, 1871, in Lincoln County near Troy, Missouri, and passed away at her home in Troy, Missouri, November 26, 1954, at the age of 83 years, 4 months, and 18 days. She was the last immediate member of the original GOODRICH family. Her father, mother, 2 sisters and 2 brothers preceeded her in death. She was happily married to Elisha Bayless HARRELL on February 16,1891 and they walked side by side for almost 50 years until his passing in 1941. To mourn her passing, she leaves 2 children: her daughter, Mabel, now Mrs. Eldridge SIMPSON, and son Emmett. Also her son-in-law Mr. SIMPSON and daughter-in-law , D'Arline.
She generously shared her life with Mrs. Joseph SHELKER and Jean SHELKER, whom she helped rear, and in whom she secured her firm religious convictions and ideals. She was blessed with 6 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a great number of nieces and nephews, who loved her as "Aunt Birdie." Before moving to Troy, she and her husband became members of the Old Sugar Creek Methodist Church. They later placed their membership in the Troy Methodist Church and attended as long as they were physically able. She will be missed by her loved ones and by her neighbors and friends, for she always had a cheery hello and smile for everyone. Funeral services were held from the Kemper Funeral Home to the Methodist Church in Troy Sunday, Nov. 28, 1954, at 2:00 p.m. Services were conducted by her friend nd pastor, Rev. B. B.
