Obituary for Capitola Myers Graf (1889-1978)

Capitola MYERS GRAF was born at Moscow Mills, Mo., Nov. 18, 1889, the daughter of Joseph Thomas and Georgia Lee WITCHER MYERS. She passed away in the Lincoln County Memorial Hospital, Troy, Mo., Friday, January 27, 1978 at the age of 88 years, 2 months, and 9 days.

On October 3, 1939, she was married to Christian GRAF.

In her younger years, she lived in Chicago where she was the proprietor of a boarding home. She later moved back to Troy where she lived the rest of her life.

Mrs. GRAF was preceded in death by her husband who passed away April 10, 1976, one daughter who died at birth and two brothers, Forest MYERS and Josie Witcher MYERS.

She is survived by the following nieces and nephews: Florence GATES of St. Louis, Charles MYERS and his wife Isabel, Forest MYERS and his wife, Marjorie, all of Troy, William Myers and his wife Reggie of St. Louis, Fred MYERS and his wife Charlotte of Chesterfield, Mo., Ruth and her husband Charles BUTLER of Ohio, several great-nieces and nephews, her husband’s sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth BEAU and her husband Fred and Mrs. Edith DELANEY, all of Dubuque, Iowa, other relatives and many friends.

Mrs. GRAF was a member of the Troy Presbyterian Church and enjoyed attending church whenever she was able. She was a member of the Justice Siloam Chapter No. 119, Order of the Eastern Star, and several years ago received her 50 year pin from that organization.

After the loss of her husband, her nieces and nephews and their families looked after her.

All her loved ones will greatly miss Mrs. GRAF.

Funeral services for Mrs.GRAF were conducted by her pastor, Rev. Dean ALLEN, at 3:30 Sunday afternoon, Jan. 29, 1978, from the Kemper Marsh Funeral Home in Troy.

Burial was in the Troy City Cemetery. Casket bearers were Vernette SHAFER, David MYERS, Steven GATES, Steven MYERS, Gary MYERS, and Eugene BEAU.
