Mrs. T. M. GIBSON DIES
Mrs. Thomas M. GIBSON, 91, passed away Monday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Mina POWELL, in Hawk Point.
Mrs. GIBSON, formerly Miss Ann Elizabeth CREECH, daughter of John and Elizabeth BROWN CREECH, was born near Old Monroe August 10, 1849, and passed away July 7, 1941 at the age of 91 years, 10 months and 27 days.
She was married to Thomas GIBSON on November 8, 1868 and to this union ten children were born, four of the children passing away in infancy. Three sons have also preceded her in death. Mr. GIBSON passed away some years ago.
When a young girl, Mrs. GIBSON united with the Methodist Church at Cotton Wood, later moving her membership to the Troy Methodist Church, after the breaking up of the Slavens Chapel Class where she had transferred her membership some years before.
Surviving Mrs. GIBSON are three daughters, Mrs. Euphania PHOEBUS, Troy; Mrs. POWELL, Hawk Point; and Mrs. Cora BISHOP, New Truxton; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the McCoy Funeral Home by the Rev. B. B. HARVEY. Interment was in the Slavens Cemetery.
