John G. Finley was born in Lincoln County, Mo., February 25, 1846 and died at the home of his sister Mrs. M. A. Finley April 7, 1914. During the last few years he was greatly afflicted and was scarcely able to be out of the house. “The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth [sic] such as be of a contrite spirit.” Ps. 34:18
