O.W. DUNARD Dies, Prominent Business man
Ora Williams DUNARD, well known Troy business man, passed away at his home in Troy,
Sunday morning, Nov. 27, 1977. He was 59 years of age. Funeral services for Mr. DUNARD
were held at 2 o'clock Tuesday, Nov. 29, 1977 from the Kemper Marsh Funeral Home.
Conducting the services were his pastor, the Rev. William CARPENTER and the Rev. D.L.
GOINS. Mrs. David RAYFIELD was the organist.
Interment was in the Troy City Cemetery. Casket bearers were Edwin STRASSMEIER,
Edwin WIEMAN, Herman SHULTE, Erwin FRANKUM, Bill SUMMERS and Paul BROWN.
Mr. DUNARD was born at Troy, Mo., December 13, 1917, the son of Ora L. and Betty
WILLIAMS DUNARD. On November 2, 1941, he was united in marriage to Miss Lee Oro WITHROW.
Mr. DUNARD was preceded in death by his parents. Surviving are his wife of their
residence, one brother, Harrison DUNARD and his wife Helen of Troy, one niece, Mrs. Edwin
(Carolyn) DUNARD JUSTUS, one nephew, Duane DUNARD, his wife's sister and brother-in-law
Mary B. and Dee CREECH and their daughter, Sherri CREECH; two great-nieces; two
great-nephews; one aunt, and her husband, Mr. and Mrs. Will HASSELFELD, two uncles, Everet
DUNARD and his wife Ruby and Walter MEISTER, other relatives and many, many friends.
Mr. DUNARD was a member of the St. Stephen United Methodist Church. He was a
veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army. For many years, he had been a
member of the Troy Chapter IOOF Lodge No. 68. He was a member of the Troy American Legion
Post No. 94 and of the Troy VFW Post No. 8828. He was also a member of the Missouri
Conservation Federation.
As a young man, Ora Williams and his brother, Harrison became associated with their
father in the DUNARD Plumbing and Heating Co. of Troy. After the passing of their father,
the brothers continued the business under the name of DUNARD Bros. Inc.
