Funeral services for Dorothy Elizabeth DUNARD, 84, of Hawk Point, Mo., were held at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 22 at Kemper-Marsh-Millard Funeral Home, Hawk Point Chapel. Fr. Rick Valleroy officiated. Interment followed in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
Dorothy Elizabeth DUNARD died Thursday, Dec. 18, 2003, at Lincoln County Medical Center.
She was born June 19, 1919, in Hawk Point, a daughter of John G. KNIZEL and Ada NORTON KNIZEL. She was married on Feb. 13, 1945 in Hawk Point to William Harold DUNARD who preceded her in death on May 6, 1984.
She was a lifelong resident of Missouri and attended Shelton School outside of Hawk Point. Dorothy was born, raised and lived on the DUNARD Family farm her entire life. She enjoyed cooking, baking, flowers, animals, baseball and visiting with her family and friends. She was a member of the Hawk Point V.F.W. Post #7560 Ladies Auxiliary and St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Dorothy always said that the dining room table was judge, jury and confessional and her family used it a lot.
She is survived by two sons: Robert D. DUNARD and wife, Barbara A., if Hawk Point and John H. DUNARD of Hawk Point and close friend, Pat NAPIER of Wentzville; daughter-in-law, Barbara J. DUNARD of Hawk Point; brother-in-law, James DUNARD and his wife, Betty, of Austin, Texas; grandchildren: Angela GILLETTE and husband, Mark, of Hurricane, W.V., Sean DUNARD of Hawk Point, Jim DUNARD and wife, Kim, of Troy, Jill DUNARD of St. Louis, Brian DUNARD of Murfreesboro, Tenn., Kris MOESCH and her husband, Chris, of Hawk Point and Ken DUNARD of Seattle, Wash.; step grandchildren: Laurie STRUS and her husband, Rick, Jeff STANEK and his wife, Michelle, all of Hawk Point; great grandchildren: Andrew GILLETTE, William Kain DUNARD, Alex GILLETTE, Jonathan HENRY, Charlie MOESCH, Brandon MOESCH, Bobby DUNARD, Paige DUNARD, Julianne GILLETTE and Emma Rose MOESCH; step great grandchildren: Ricky STRUS, Michael STRUS and Nicole STANEK.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and one son, William K. DUNARD on Jan. 22, 2002.
Visitation was held from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 21 at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Hawk Point V.F.W. Post 7560 Ladies Auxiliary in Hawk Point or to St. Mary’s Cemetery in care of Kemper-Marsh-Millard Funeral Home, Hawk Point.
