Obituary for Lucy Heath Dryden Taylor (d.1946)

Lucy Heath DRYDEN TAYLOR, d/o John L. H. and Frances MASSIE DRYDEN, was born March 13,
1878, at Argentvlle, and departed this life Sep. 10, 1946, at Troy.
She was one of 10 children, all of whom have preceeded her in death except one sister,
Mrs. Frank TAYLOR, of Briscoe.
She was married to Arch C. TAYLOR, Mar. 23, 1904. To this union were born 3
children, John W. & Eugene E. of Troy, & Hulda HEATH, wife of Hurley COX ofBowling
Green.
In addition to the companion & her children, she also leaves 5 grandchildren, a number
of nieces & nephews, 2 daughter-in-laws, Opal, wife of John TAYLOR and Christine, wife
of Eugene TAYLOR; one son-in-law and 6 sister-in-laws, and a host of relatives and
friends.
She was converted in young womanhood and united with the New Salem Baptist Church.
She suffered a stroke of paralysis Sep.1, 1946, and despite the tender care of loved ones
and friends, death came as a sweet release from her suffering and her spirit is back with
God who gave it.
Funeral Services, conducted by Rev. N. N. SMELSER, were held at Old Alexandria Methodist
Church Sep.12, at 2 p.m. and interment was in the adjoining Cemetery.
Mrs. E. C. DICKENHORST and Mrs. John H. WILSON sang "The Old Rugged Cross" ,
"In The Garden" & "Saved by Grace" accompanied by Mrs. A.
A.WINFREY, at the piano.
Casket bearers were her nephews: Merlyn WEINAND, Troy; K. C. KEITHLEY, Chicago ,IL.;
Julian CHANDLER, Jacksonville, IL.; Francis DRYDEN of Millwood; Lesley CHANDLER & A.
C. FINLEY, Troy.
She will be sadly missed by her family relatives & friends.
