The Rev. Birl DEARING, age 72, a resident of 1950 Catalpa, Berkley, Mich., for 22 years, died Jan. 6th, 1969, after a brief illness in William Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak. He was the minister of Prairie Lawn Church of God in Royal Oak, Mich., for eight years and had been a self-employed carpenter-contractor.
Mr. DEARING was born April 27, 1896, in Duff, Ind. In June of 1915, he was united in marriage with Helen OXLEY. To this union five children were born: Mrs. Melvin MCCRACKEN, of Birmingham, Mich., John of Waterford, Mich., Henry of Huntingburg, Ind., Victor of Berkley, Mich., and Mrs. Doyle (Helen) HELBLING of Salt Lake City, Utah. His wife, Helen, preceded him in death, Nov. 7th, 1944.
On Sept. 1st, 1946 he was united in marriage with the former Olive BECK of Moscow Mills. To this union were born seven children: Mrs. Gerald (Wave) EVANS, James, Donald, Ruth, Steven, Beth and Pauline.
Surviving him are his widow, Olive; 12 children, 18 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; his step-mother, Mrs. Lena LOTSGESELL, and brother, Wesley, of Madison, Ill.
Mr. DEARING was a member of the Southeastern Michigan Ministerial Association of the Church of God. The Rev. Estel Perry and the Rev. Robert Showalter conducted funeral services Jan. 9th, 1969, at the Prairie Lawn Church of God. Burial was in White Chapel Memorial Cemetery, Troy, Mich.
