Obituary of Wanda B. Damron

 

Funeral services for Wanda Naomi Bradley Damron of Elsberry, Mo., were held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 20, 2003, in Carter-Ricks Funeral Home at Elsberry.  Rev. Doug McGlaughlin officiated with burial in Elsberry City Cemetery at Elsberry.  Serving as pallbearers were Stephen Cortelyou, John Lagemann, Dave Davis, Jerry Suddarth, Joe Shipman and Joe Wayman; honorary pallbearers were O’Garlan Ricks and Lee Moreno.

 

Mrs. Damron, 83, died early, Wednesday morning, June 18, 2003 in Garden View Care Center in O’Fallon, Mo.  Born July 1, 1919 in Floydada, TX, she was the daughter of the late Fred Willis and Mary Elizabeth “Mollie” Peterson Bradley.  She was united in marriage on December 16, 1942 in Abilene, TX to Dr. Edward Oscar Damron.  Mrs. Damron was an active volunteer and former board president of the Elsberry Public Library.  She was a member of the Bridge Club, member and past president of the P.E.O. Sisterhood, Chapter AI, in Elsberry and the Elsberry First Baptist Church.

 

Mrs. Damron was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Mollie Bradley.

 

Survivors include her beloved husband of 60 years, Dr. Ed Damron of Elsberry; one son, Lynn Bradley Damron and his wife, Joyce, of Snohomish, WA; two daughters, Suzanne Suddarth of O;Fallon, MO and Melissa Davis and her husband, Dave, of Leavenworth, KS; and six grandchildren, Kimberly Damron and her husband, Lee Moreno, of Tallahassee, FL, Brad Suddarth of Arlington, VA, Julie Suddarth of St. Charles, MO, Scott Davis of Chicago, IL, Mark Davis of Leavenworth, KS, and Steven Davis, also of Leavenworth, KS.  She also leaves one brother, Delmon Bradley of Miles, TX; two sisters Madolynne Wilson and her husband, Woodrow, of Richardson, TX, and Mozelle Hodges of Ranger, TX, several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

 

Visitation was held from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, June 19, 2003 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.

 

Memorials may be made to the Joseph R. Palmer Family Memorial Library or the Elsberry First Baptist Church in care of Carter-Ricks Funeral Home, 107 South Fifth Street, Elsberry, MO  63343
