Obituary for Mrs. Ellen Cole Crockett (1874-1901)
The Troy Free Press, Troy, MO, 5 April, 1901, page 8, column 3.
Mrs. Ellen CROCKETTt died at her home in Moscow Mills, Mo., Saturday, March 30, 1901.
She was born Aug. 2, 1874. Her maiden name was COLE.
She was married to Edward CROCKETT March 2, 1892, and to their union were born four
children - one son and three daughters. Her husband, son and two daughters survive her.
She professed religion at the age of 14, and united with the Methodist church. She was a
woman of exalted character, honorable, thorough-going; in her the elements of a perfect
womanhood were singularly well blended. She lived the religion she professed, served the
Christ whom she loved, and died the death of the righteous. She will be sadly missed by
her family, especially her children who are at the age to need a mother's care. I commend
them for consolation and hope to Him who guides and rules, and doeth all things well. G.
