WILLIAM WARREN CRANK OBITUARY

In Memoriam

William Warren CRANK was born near Lynchburg, Va., May 23, 1858, and died Dec. 25, 1897, aged 39 years, 6 months and 28 days.

He came to Missouri with his parents in January, 1867. He was married to Miss MAGGIE SPRINGSTON January 17, 1884. He united with the M. E. church South January 1, 1886, and was a devoted and faithful member until God saw fit to claim him for His own. His last hours were spent in prayer that he might join his loved ones gone before. He, in his sickness, told his wife that he was not afraid to die. He was kind and generous-hearted, always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. How short his stay on earth, but God knows best. He has taken him to dwell in His love forever. He has laid his burdens suddenly down. We can hardly reconcile ourselves that others should take them up. But we can hope and believe, and as in nature, there is no death, so faith tells us our brother is not dead, but living wiser, greater, grander than ever before.

The death reaper has come and robbed that sweet, trusting wife of the most precious gift God ever gave to woman—a fond, affectionate husband.

A large concourse of friends assembled at Oak Ridge church to hear the discourse and followed his remains to the Oak Ridge cemetery. The wife, brothers and sisters have the sympathy of the entire community in their bereavement.
