Homer L. COX, lifelong resident of Lincoln County and retired business man, passed away in the St. Luke’s Hospital, West, Chesterfield, Mo., Thursday evening, October 9, 1986 at the age of 85 years.

Funeral services for Mr. COX were held at 2 o’clock Sunday, October 12, 1986 from the Old Alexandria United Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. James Estep, church pastor and the Rev. Lester Zacher, former pastor of the church. The musicians were Mrs. Henry Arnhold and Mrs. Gene Chapman.

Interment was in the Old Alexandria Cemetery. Casket bearers were Carl Wayne COX, Jerry COX, John Roy COX, Claude COX, Russell COX, Dick SHAFER. Honorary casket bearers were Charles HALL and Virgil FARMER.

Homer L. COX was born at Briscoe, Mo., May 26, 1901, the son of Claude and Margaret Blair COX. He was married Sept. 20, 1922 to Miss Laura Belle CREECH and she survives. He is also survived by one daughter, Mrs. Dee (Betty) HUNTER of Troy, one son, Robert COX of Wentzville, two sisters, Mrs. Opal TRAIL and Mrs. Helen MEADE, both of Troy, five grandchildren, one great grandson, a number of brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

In 1937 Mr. COX opened the Homer L. COX garage and salvage yard. He later owned and operated a water hauling service also. He was a member of the Old Alexandria United Methodist Church.

Visitation for Mr. COX was at the Kemper Marsh Funeral Home in Troy.
