Hawk Point Man Dies
Funeral services were held at the Troy Methodist Church Wednesday afternoon, Nov. 17, for
James Edward COTTLE, who died Monday morning, November 15, at his home in Hawk Point. The
services were conducted by Rev. C. N. Gaines and interment was made in the Thornhill
cemetery.
Mr. COTTLE, the son of Demonitmer and Caroline COTTLE, was born April 9, 1864, near
Moscow Mills, Mo. being 79 years 7 months and 6 days of age at the time of his death.
He was married to Miss Margaret MCGOVERN, of St. Louis, in 1889, and to this union two
daughters were born. His wife and one infant daughter preceeded him in death. He leaves to
mourn his departure his daughter, Mrs. Eva DOWNING, his son-in-law: one brother, Wm.
COTTLE, of Troy; two sisters, Mrs.John JAMESON and Mrs. Elvira LESTER of near Troy and
other relatives.
