Death of William COOSE

One among the oldest citizens of Troy and Lincoln Co. passed to his eternal reward on Sunday, Sept. 20, 1914 his home on the eastern part of town.
He was born near the location of the town of Silex, on the 3rd day of Nov 1830. He married Miss Olivia FENTOM Dec. 26, 1865. To this union one daughter was born, now Mrs. Wm. T. BAKER, of Troy. Capt. COOSE and his wife united with the Sulphur Lick Christian Church in the year 1866, under the preaching of Rev. Timothy FORD. They transferred their membership to Troy when they moved here many years ago. He was always faithful, earnest and consecrated in his Christian life and service. He was once a deputy revenue collector in his district and also served for a while as deputy sheriff.
He spent his whole life in this county........
His funeral was preached Mon. p.m. in the Christian Church by Rev. M. D. DUDLEY and hs body was laid away in our city cemetery. Capt COOSE left his aged wife, one daughter, six grandchildren, a brother living in Arkansas and two sisters, Mrs. J. W. BOURLAND and Mrs. R. A. TRAIL to mourne his departure.

(I found no tombstone record in the Cem Book. Would be on record at City
Hall. Probably unmarked grave. j.g.)
