Obituary for Clarence Raymond Cappel
(1902-1982)Clarence Raymond CAPPEL was born August 6, 1902 at Moscow Mills, Mo., the son of Antone and Annie OSBORN CAPPEL.
He passed away at Lincoln County Memorial Hospital, March 7, 1982 after a short illness at the age of 79 years, 7 months, and 1 day.
He was married to Willie James MILLER Aug. 22, 1921. To this union two sons were born, Kenneth and Billy Bob.
Preceding him in death were his mother and father and three brothers, John, Earl and Roy.
He is survived by his wife, Willie; two sons: Kenneth of St. Louis and Billy Bob of Moscow Mills; two daughters-in-law, Anita and Billie Jean; six grandchildren: Tim CAPPEL and wife, Mary Lou, Ralph CAPPEL and wife, Belinda, Brian CAPPEL and wife, Laura, Kenny CAPPEL, Sue CAPPEL, Larry CAPPEL and wife, Melinda, Terry CAPPEL and friend, Marge MENNEMEYER; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Fred CAPPEL and wife, Lena; three sisters: Lena HARRELL and husband, Jess, Eda HARRELL and husband, Dean, Lucille HILL and husband, Lewis; his wifes brother, Claude WILSON and wife, Audrey; a host of nieces and nephews and many, many friends.
Clarence was born and raised in Moscow Mills. He lived all his life in and around Moscow Mills where he was a farmer.
He worked for the A.S.C. Office in Lincoln County for many years measuring farms. In this job Clarence met and knew about every farmer in Lincoln County and made many friends.
Clarence was never happier than when he and his grandson, Larry, farmed together. He stayed active and last summer would go to the field and set in his truck and watch Larry.
Three weeks ago when his younger brother, Roy passed away his health failed quickly.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 10 from the Moscow Mills United Methodist Church. Rev. Thomas Sanders officiating, assisted by Rev. Lester Zacher. Interment was in the Troy City Cemetery.
The pallbearers were Miller BRAUNGARDT, Bobbie THORNHILL, C.O. ANDERSON, Charles MOZIER, J.E. BOCKHORST and Sam SHAFER. Funeral arrangements were through the McCoy-Paul Funeral Home in Troy.
