Thomas John BUENEMAN was born in Lincoln County, near Troy, Mo., September 3, 1878, the son of William F. and Amelia DUBBERT BUENEMAN. He passed away at his home on Monday afternoon, November 22, 1971, at the age of 93 years, 2 months and 19 days.
He was baptized and confirmed in the Friedens E&R Church of Moscow Mills, Mo., now the Friedens United Church of Christ. It was in this church he met his future bride, Miss Louise Margaret GERDEMAN. They were married October 25, 1905, and established their home on a farm just next to the one on which he was born and reared.
Mr. and Mrs. BUENEMAN became parents of eight children, five boys and three girls.
Preceding Mr. BUENEMAN in death were two brothers, Robert and James, and four sisters: Mrs. Ida EVERSMEYER, Mrs. Ellen BECK and Amelia and Adeline BUENEMAN.
He is survived by his devoted wife with whom he shared over 66 years of married life; five sons: Elihu and wife, Mary, of Wright City, Ora and his wife, Helen, Julius and his wife, Garnetta, of Troy, Walter and his wife, Eva, of Moscow Mills, and Marvin and his wife, Millicent of Troy; his three daughters: Alva and her husband, Ray DOWELL, of Bowling Green, Miss Darline BUENEMAN, of St. Louis, and Mabel and her husband, Harry SCHOENECK, of Jackson, Miss.; twenty grandchildren, thirty-five great-grandchildren; one brother, Nat BUENEMAN and his wife, Ida, and one sister, Mrs. Susie SPIELHAGEN, all of Troy; ten nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services for Mr. BUENEMAN were conducted from the Zion United Church of Christ in Troy Thursday morning, November 25, 1971, by the pastor, the Rev. Wayne Nowack. The organist was Miss Janice BUENEMAN, and the soloist was Mrs. Barbara LINDSEY. Interment was in the Troy City Cemetery.
Pall bearers and honorary pall bearers were grandsons. They were Paul J. SCHOENECK, Donald BUENEMAN, Thomas BUENEMAN, Harry J. SCHOENECK Jr., W. Tommy BUENEMAN, Richard L. DOWELL, Kenneth BUENEMAN, E.W. BUENEMAN Jr., and Irvin BUENEMAN.
Arrangements were through the Kemper Marsh Funeral Home of Troy.
