Obituary for Nathaniel Henry Bueneman (1891-1983)

Nathaniel Henry BUENEMAN, a son of William F. and Amelia Duebbert BUENEMAN was born October 8, 1891, on the family farm near Troy, Missouri. He passed away on November 3, 1983, in his 92nd year, at the Medicalodge of Troy.
He was baptized by the Rev. Clyde Koehler, and became a member of Friedens Evangelical Chuch, Moscow Mills, Mo. in 1922. He moved his membership to the Zion United Church of Christ in Troy in 1975 after he and his wife moved to Troy.
He was married to Ida Louise SCHMIDT on August 15, 1917, by the Rev. H. E. Koenig and they established their home on a farm south of Troy, where they were blessed with over fifty years of happiness together. They became the parents of two children: Lucille, now Mrs. Fred BERGFELD, and William, who passed away on June 20, 1974. His wife, Ida, passed away on July 3, 1974.
Nat BUENEMAN was a well-known, dedicated farmer, and a dependable neighbor and friend. He had the ability to derive satisfaction from simple pleasures, and maintained a good sense of humor throughout all his years. He especially enjoyed his friendships during the last years of his retirement in Troy. He was blessed with good health until he suffered his first stroke in 1978 and since that time had been a resident of Medicalodge in Troy.
Preceeding Mr. BUENEMAN in death, in addition to his wife, Ida, and one son, William, were his sisters, Mrs. Ellen BECK; Mrs. Ida EVERSMEYER, Mrs. Susie SPIELHAGEN, and Adaline and Emily who died in infancy; his brothers, Robert BUENEMAN and Thomas BUENEMAN, and infant James.
He is survived by his daughter, Lucille and her husband, Fred BERGFELD; his daughter-in-law, Mrs. Annline BUENEMAN; four grandchildren, Dr. Carol MILLS and her husband, Dr. Judson MILLS of Lanham, Md., Alan BERGFELD and his wife, Nancy of Wichita, Ks., Debbie BURNS and her husband,. Tom BURNS; and David BUENEMAN and his wife, Jill, all of Troy; two great-grandsons, Ridgeway Nathaniel MILLS and Bradley BURNS; one greatgrand-daughter, Amanda Sue BUENEMAN; his sister-in-laws, Mrs. Annie KARRENBROCK and her husband, Albert KARRENBROCK and Mrs. Minnie POLLMAN; his brother-in-law, the Rev. John SCHMIDT and his wife, Ella SCHMIDT, of Highland, Il.
He is also survived by a large number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many close friends.
Funeral services for Mr. BUENEMAN were conducted by the Rev. Robert GRUNEWALD from the Zion United Church of Christ, Sunday afternoon, November 6, 1983, at 2 oclock. Mrs. Briggs Cragen was the organist and Lester Schloeman was the soloist.
Interment was at Friedens Cemetery, Moscow Mills, Mo. Casket bearers were Paul WEINRICH, Robert WERMUTH, Marvin BUENEMAN, Joe DOLDE, Bob DUNARD and Kermit WIEMAN.
Visitation was at the Kemper Marsh Funeral Home in Troy.

DAYS END
As twilight draws the curtain on lifetimes busy day,
We must relax our schedules and put our cares away.
Having faith in His promises, we listen for His call,
For evening is fulfillment and His Grace is best of all.
