Obituary for Dr. Juanita J. Brown
(2000)A memorial service for Juanita J. BROWN, 52, of Lake Worth, Fla., was held Friday, Sept. 1 at 3 p.m. at the Lorne & Sons Funeral Home, 745 North Federal Highway, Delray Beach.
Mrs. BROWN died Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2000.
She was the daughter of Audrey JUSTUS and the late Rev. Clyde JUSTUS.
Mrs. BROWN graduated from Owensville R-II High School in 1965. She received three degrees from the University of Missouri, Columbia: Bachelor of Science in Home Economics (Cum Laude), 1976; Masters of Business Administration, 1983 and Doctor of Philosophy Business Administration, 1990. While a student, she received several awards including the Superior Graduate Achievement Award in 1987 and 1989 and Graduate Student Teaching Award for Excellence in Teaching in 1986. She was chosen as the American Marketing Association Consortium Fellow in 1986 and was accepted as a member of the Alpha Mu Alpha National Marketing Honorary in 1987.
Mrs. BROWN joined the marketing faculty at Florida Atlantic University in August 1989 and was active throughout the university. She was a tenured Associate Professor. She received recognition for teaching excellence and served as Faculty Advisor to the Student Association of the American Marketing Association.
Survivors include her husband, Stanley BROWN; two sons, Michael G. BROWN of Stockton, Calif. and Anthony S. BROWN of Sunrise, Fla.; her mother, Audrey JUSTUS of York, Neb.; two brothers: Thomas JUSTUS of Owensville and Richard JUSTUS of Lincoln, Neb.; a sister, Patricia SCHNEIDER of York, Neb.; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Rev. Clyde JUSTUS; her daughter, Kristen; grandparents Eva and Amiel WEITKAMP and John and Minnie JUSTUS.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Dr. Juanita Brown Memorial Scholarship Fund at Florida Atlantic Universitys College of Business.
