Obituary - Hayden C. BRISCOE
Haden Caldwell BRISCOE, son of Samuel and Rebecca BRISCOE, was born near New Hope, Mo. March 7, 1857, being one of a family of eleven children, of whom nine have preceded him in death. At the time of his passing, December 19, 1935 he was 78 years, 9 months and 12 days of age.
He was united in marriage to Sarah Olie BROYLES October 20, 1887, who preceded him in death 21 years ago. To this union were born 12 children, all whom are living. They are Otis, Cecil, Mrs. Ada NORVEL, Mrs Wesley BROWN, Mrs. Lawrence WEHMEIER, all of Briscoe; Groves( Grover? jg) Forrest and Emma, at home; Mrs. Jeff HOFF , of Elsberry; Mrs Samuel LORTON, of Troy; Mrs. Oscar GERRINGER, of McBride, Mo. and Mrs. Charles RIECHMANN, of St Louis. He is also survived by two daughters-in-law, one sister, Mrs. Belle ULERY, and one brother, Thomas BRISCOE, of Briscoe; 16 grandchildren, besides a host of friends to mourn his departure.
He professed his faith in his Savior and united with the Baptist Church at Davis on October 23,1904......
Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Methodist church at Briscoe, conducted by Rev. R.E.Connelly, and his body was laid to rest in the Cemetery at Briscoe to await the resurrection morn. May the Holy spirit comfort his children.

( Briscoe Church was a Union Church and it seems as though the denominational preference of the person is the denomination mentioned for the same church. Land was donated for the Briscoe Union Church by Samuel Briscoe... I also attended there over 50 years ago ..The church is no longer standing. The roof caved in 1970s. jg.)
