SERVICES HELD FOR CLAUDE BRISCOE
Funeral services for Claude BRISCOE, of 169 5th St. Troy, were held on Tuesday, November 12, at 2:00 p.m. from McCoy-Paul Funeral Home with Bro. Lester Schloeman officiating. Interment was in the Old Alexandria Cemetery.
Mr. BRISCOE was born at Briscoe, Mo. on December 22,1895, the son of Ephraim and Dollie BARKER BRISCOE. He departed this life at Lincoln County Memorial Hospital on Saturday, November 9,1974 having entered only 24 hours earlier. He was 78 years,10 months and 13 days of age.
He was united in marriage to Miss Lottie BROWN on February 27,1920 and to this union five children were born, one daughter, Edna, dying in infancy.
Surviving are his wife, Lottie; two sons, Melvin BRISCOE, Detroit, Michigan, Howard BRISCOE, Rocksville, Maryland; two daughters, Mrs. Vernon (Lucille) BRYANT, of O'Fallon and Mrs. Kenneth (Winona) NUCKOLS, of Troy; one brother Mike BRISCOE, of St. Louis; three sisters, Mrs. Mary PHELPS, Kate CREECH, and Mrs. Emma CREECH all of Troy; 23 grandchildren; nine grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and one sister. Mr. BRISCOE was a WW I Veteran.
