Winfield-- Services for Maude BIRKHEAD, 96, of Winfield, will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Winfield. The Rev. John Birkhead and the Rev. Johnny Funderberg will officiate. Burial will be in the Winfield Cemetery.

Mrs. BIRKHEAD died at 11:30 a.m. Sep.27, 1990, at the Lincoln County Memorial Hospital, Troy.

She was born June 12, 1894, in Foley, to Samuel and Grace Broyles MILLER.

On Jan. 31, 1912, in Foley, she was married to Mahlon BIRKHEAD, who died on Sep.22, 1963.

Survivors include 2 sons, Miller Bailey BIRKHEAD and Paul Percy BIRKHEAD, both of Winfield; 1 daughter, Virginia Ruth ADAMS, of East Moline, ILL.; 9 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-greatgrandchild.

A son, Richard Ernest BIRKHEAD, preceded his mother in death.

Mrs. BIRKHEAD was a member of the Winfield Baptist Church. She was a charter member of the Women's Missionary Society and was Sunday School class secretary for 37 years. Also she was a member of the Rebekeh Lodge.

Visitation will be after 4 p.m. at the funeral home in Winfield. Memorials may be made to the Winfield Cemetery.
