Nellie Mae BARRETT, oldest daughter of Frank and Clara CRAIG, was born April 15, 1877, near Troy, and passed away on Saturday, February 10, 1945, at the age of 67 years, 7 months and 25 days of age.

She was united in marriage to Charles D. BARRETT on November 7, 1893. To this union were born six children – Irma Grace, now Mrs. Sidney GLADNEY, of Briscoe; Wallace LeRoy, and Lloyd Estes, of Elsberry; Charles Leland, of Troy; Francis David, of St. Louis; and Warren Avery, of Troy.

She also leaves two sisters, Mrs. Leon EVERSMEYER, of Moscow Mills, and Mrs. Theodore GERDEMAN, of Troy; nine grandchildren, Anna Mae BARRETT, now Mrs. Karl SHANNON; Charles, Forest, William, Ruby and Reba GLADNEY; Melba June, daughter of Lloyd, and Norma and Anetta, daughters of Charles.

She was preceded in death by her husband, who died March 13, 1926.

Mrs. BARRETT joined the Sugar Creek Methodist Church shortly after her marriage, remained a member until she moved to Troy, when she moved her membership to the Troy Church, where she has been a faithful member for the past 19 years. Her delight was in the house of the Lord. But now she is experiencing a greater joy in the house of many mansions.

Funeral services were held on Sunday afternoon, February 11, at the Troy Methodist Church, at 2:30 o’clock, conducted by Rev. J. Preston Cole. Interment was made in the Troy City Cemetery.
