LOYD E. BARRETT

Loyd Estes BARRETT was born August 11, 1902 near Troy, Mo., the son of Charles and Nellie CRAIG BARRETT. He passed away suddenly at his home Tuesday, November 6, 1979 at the age of 77 years, 2 months and 26 days.

On January 31, 1926 he was married to Leah Ann CREECH. This union was blessed with one daughter, Melba June. He was preceded in death by his wife on March 2, 1967.

Mr. & Mrs BARRETT lived on a farm near Troy until 1959, when they moved to town. Both became members of the Methodist Church and remained active until their deaths.

Surviving are his daughter, Melba CAPPEL and husband Paul; two grandchildren, Debra and Dennis CAPPEL; three sisters-in-law, Mrs. Viola BARRETT, Mrs. Anna Lee BARRETT, and Mrs. Iva BRIGHTWELL: one brother-in-law, Vesper CREECH; a number of nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Thursday, November 8 from St. Stephen United Methodist Church, Rev. William J. Carpenter officiating. Mrs. Pam Hall was in charge of the music. The Pall bearers were Forest Gladney, William Gladney, Charles Gladney, Glenn Creech, Carl Creech and Karl Shannon.

Interment was in the Troy City Cemetery.

McCoy - Paul Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
