This listing of the "Hurricane Township Honor Roll World War II" was transcribed February, 2007 by Neal Underwood from a photograph of a large sign that appeared in The Elsberry Democrat, Friday, June 15, 1945. At the bottom of the photo is the caption: "Cut courtesy Albert Mitchell, 'the Answer Man,' whose father, Walter Mitchell, is a resident of Elsberry." The names on the sign are displayed in upper case.
The status flags were hand-written in on the photograph which was published:

In a few cases, single initials were very difficult to read from this old newspaper clipping, so there may be errors.
