Marriage Notice for J. A. Shields and Ethel Cockrell

Cupid, in winged flight, many times pierces the hearts of our friends with such intensity that ere we know it his work is completed, and with the smiles of the angels from above and God's labor on earth, says but a few sacred words and "two hearts beat as one," and the two lives are pedged to live one for the other.

Mr. J. A. SHIELDS and Miss Ethel COCKRELL, in a very quiet manner, were married at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. L. COCKRELL, on April 5,1905. The attendants were Mr. Parks GROSHONG and Miss Edith COCKRELL, sister of the bride. The wedding march was played by Miss Minnie SHIELDS.

The following day an elaborate reception was tendered the young couple at the home of the groom's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thos. SHIELDS. Mrs. SHIELDS is one of our home girls, and by her bright mind and sweet disposition has won many friends who wish her well in her new relation. The groom is one of our steady and progessive young teachers. We join their many friends in wishing them well.
