Marriage of James Story and Lou Henkey (date unknown)
No. 222 - Uncited clippings from the "Neva Murphy Hubbard Collection" of
Beth Rengers Talken, 1998.
Miss Lou HENKEY, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A.G. HENKEY and Mr. James STORY of Memphis,
Tenn., were married at the home of the bride's parents on Cherry street Wednesday at high
noon, the ceremony being performed by Rev. J.R.C. BROWN, pastor of the Presbyterian
church, only the members of the immediate families being in attendance. After the wedding
a dinner was served and Mr. and Mrs. STORY departed for Memphis, Tenn., on the afternoon
train to make their future home. The bride is too well-known to need any introduction from
us. For the past three years she has been the long distance operator for the Bell
Telephone Co., and was one of Troy's most popular young ladies. The groom is the adopted
son of Judge Fillmore STORY and was raised in Troy. He has a good position with the United
Cigar Co. in Memphis. All join in wishing Mr. and Mrs. STORY the fullness of happiness on
their journey through life.
