Wedding Announcement of Judge Fillmore Story and Mrs. Lou D. Douglas (date
unknown)
No. 221 - Uncited clippings from the "Neva Murphy Hubbard Collection" of
Beth Rengers Talken, 1998.
Judge Fillmore STORY "put one over" on all of his Troy friends, the Free
Press included, when he slipped off to Hannibal and was married on the 14th of August last
to Mrs. Lou D. DOUGLAS of Frankford. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Mr. MARSHALL, who
was at that time visiting his daughter in Hannibal; so the wedding did not get into the
Hannibal papers. The Judge and his bride then made a short trip to Quincy, returning in a
few days-she to her home in Frankford and he to Troy. Last Thursday evening - almost a
month after the ceremony, Judge STORY went to Frankford to visit Mrs. STORY and brought
her back with him Friday. They are now domiciled at the Judge's beautiful home on Boone
Street. Our very best wishes are extended, but we haven't forgiven the Judge for fooling
us badly as he did when he told us that he was "going to Burlington to visit some
friends."
