Marriage of Lewis Armstrong and Lillian H. Guy (date unknown)
No. 152 - Uncited clippings from the "Neva Murphy Hubbard Collection" of Beth Rengers Talken, 1998.

The marriage of Mr. Lewis ARMSTRONG of St. Louis and Miss Lillian H. GUY, of this city, took place at the Christian Church here at 2:30 o'clock Thursday. The church had been prettily decorated by a number of young lady friends of the bride and presented a handsome appearance. At the appointed hour the tone of the grand wedding march fell upon the ear and the bridal party, led by the ushers, Messrs Gus LEWIS of St. Louis and Arch ROBARDS of Hannibal and Messrs H.C. CAKE and E.M. FORGEY of this city, wended their way to the altar. During the ceremony, which was performed by Elder LAMPTON of Hannibal, Miss Emma PATTON, who had so beautifully and successfully played the march, touched the notes to the soft sweet strains of Annie Laurie. The bride was attired in a suit of golden brown broadcloth. The skirt was made with demi-train and the front was very plain, a few rows of stitching being the only trimming. The waist was elegantly trimmed with fur the same shade as dress. A large brown hat and grut de snede were worn with this pretty suit. Instead of the conventional bouquet she carried an Oxford Bible.  The attendants were Misses Katie CALDWELL, Dora BOONE and Gussie MACKEY, all becomingly attired for the occasion and accompanied by Messrs Dave C. BIGGS and Mr. POLLARD of St. Louis and C.T. CLIFFORD of this city. After the ceremony the happy couple took the 2:35 train for St. Louis, their future home. They were the recipients of many handsome presents.

The Sentinel extends the best wishes for a long and prosperous live [sic]. We are under obligations to the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. B.G. PATTON, for a delicious box of wedding cake.
