Obituary for Thomas F. Potts (1848-1912)
No. 113 - Uncited clippings from the "Neva Murphy Hubbard Collection" of
Beth Rengers Talken, 1998.
Died in St. Louis Oct. 7, 1912, at the age of 64 years. He was born in Boone county in 1848. He came to Lincoln county, where he married Elizabeth MEYERS in 1876. Ten children were born to the union, three boys and seven girls, three of which preceded their father to the grave. He was a shoe-maker by trade and worked in New Hope more than 30 years ago, moving from there to Fulton and from there to St. Louis, where he spent the remainder of his life. In his young life he professed faith in his Lord and united with the Baptist church. His remains were brought to Foley Thursday and after funeral services conducted by Eld. J. S. EAMES his body was laid in the cemetery at Corinth. May the sorrowing one find comfort by trusting in Jesus.
-J.S. EAMES.
