Obituary for Claudine Blanks Maddox (1873-1917)
No. 083 - Uncited clippings from the "Neva Murphy Hubbard Collection" of Beth Rengers Talken, 1998.

Mrs. Claudine Blanks MADDOX was born near Moscow Mills, Lincoln county, December 12, 1873 and departed this life August 27th, 1917, at her home in Seattle, Wash. She was converted at the age of nineteen years and united with the Cook Avenue Methodist church. In the year 1902 she was married in Seattle to Mr. Robert MADDOX. For her husband, who met with misfortune and lost his sight at the time of the great San Francisco earthquake, she exercised the utmost solitude, reading to him from the Bible and good books, always patient and hopeful up to the last moment of having any strength.

She leaves to mourn her loss, her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs John SCHACHER, her sisters, Mrs. Sheppie RELLER, Mrs. Hugh HUMPHREY, Mrs. Mary POLLARD and Mrs. Lawrence SINN, and her brothers, George and Roland SCHACHER.

Note regarding clippings from the "Neva Murphy Hubbard Collection":  Neva Murphy Hubbard (1886-1971) lived all of her life in Lincoln County, MO.  She collected a large file of clippings of Lincoln County residents. The majority of the clippings were without citation. Beth Rengers Talken, beneficiary of the collection, has transcribed them for inclusion in our Lincoln County Heritage Records.
