Obituary for M. C. Hubbard (d1923)
No. 065 - Uncited clippings from the "Neva Murphy Hubbard Collection" of
Beth Rengers Talken, 1998.
Again the Supreme Architect of the Universe has seen fit to call from labor to rest a beloved brother, M.C. HUBBARD, who departed this life on March 13, 1923. Brother HUBBARD became a member of the Masonic fraternity some fifty years ago.
Therefore, be it Resolved, that in the death of Brother HUBBARD this lodge has lost a faithful member and his children a loving father.
Resolved, that we bear in grateful remembrance the fidelity with which Brother HUBBARD discharged his Masonic duties and try and emulate his many virtues.
Resolved that we tender our heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved ones and commend them to the God in whom he trusted.
Resolved, that a page in our records be set apart and dedicated to these resolutions, that a copy be sent to his children; and one to the Troy Free Press for publication. --Committee.
Note regarding clippings from the "Neva Murphy Hubbard Collection": Neva Murphy Hubbard (1886-1971) lived all of her life in Lincoln County, MO. She collected a large file of clippings of Lincoln County residents. The majority of the clippings were without citation. Beth Rengers Talken, beneficiary of the collection, has transcribed them for inclusion in our Lincoln County Heritage Records.
