[The edge of this obituary is unreadable] Wm. CAMPBELL, one of the most h___ly respected citizens of Clark township, died at his home south of town, Monday, April 29, 1912. He was ____ near Montreal, Can., June 23, ____ and came to the United States in _____. He was married to Miss Cel____ Dove MESSINGER in 1877 and they ___ seven children, four daughters, ____ three sons, all of whom, with ___ mother, survive him. The fa____ moved from St. Clair county, Ill. ___ this county in 1822 and settled on __ farm where Mr. CAMPBELL died. The deceased had been suffereing from Bright's disease about one year prior to his death. The funeral was preached at the home Tuesday afternoon by Rev. J.I. AYERS and the interment was at the city cemetery. Our sympathy is extended to the bereaved ones in their sorrow.
Note regarding clippings from the "Neva Murphy Hubbard Collection": Neva Murphy Hubbard (1886-1971) lived all of her life in Lincoln County, MO. She collected a large file of clippings of Lincoln County residents. The majority of the clippings were without citation. Beth Rengers Talken, beneficiary of the collection, has transcribed them for inclusion in our Lincoln County Heritage Records.
