Kentucky Marriages, 1802-1850 about Nancy Robert Chandler Kelly
Spouse 1: Chandler, Nancy
Spouse 2: Kelly, Robert
Marriage Date: 18 Aug 1819
Marriage Location: Kentucky, Washington County
Both sons of Robert Kelly, Robert Clinton Kelly (b May 26, 1824) and William
Edward Kelly (December 20, 1825) were born in Washington County, Kentucky.
Robert Clinton Kelly moved to Missouri around the early 1850s, where he
married Sarah Ann Shields in 1852. They had several children, the 1860
census shows Nancy E and John J Kelly. Then the 1880 Census shows the
following children:
William A, who married a Lizzie Allen, both are buried in the Winfield
Cemetery, Cora L, Ollie D, Nolie E, Fannie and Mary. I don't have any hard
proof but I believe he fought in the civil war, which is why he didn't show
up in the 1870 Census.
William Edward Kelly (my great great grandfather) married Elizabeth Chase,
she was from New York. She was living in Kentucky prior to their marriage.
I know she had a brother living in Kentucky as well, he was an attorney.
They married in Kentucky on July 6, 1854. He was fighting in the civil war,
she was living in Kentucky, but I don't know is she passed away or if they
divorced. The first census I have for him living in Missouri is 1870 and he
is already married to arthusa Josephine overall. I don't know if they
divorced or if she passed away. They had two children Albin Chase and Robert
Clinton Kelly. 2nd Marriage there were William Joel, Nancy Elizabeth, Lida
Palmyra (died as infant), John Dudley, Stephen Hilton (my great grandfather)
and Littleton Callaway.
