John Lewis was born about 1837 in Kentucky. His wife was Mary Margaret Whiskerson,
born in 1846. John and Mary are seated in the center of the group. Daughter
Eliza Ann is standing at left. Daughter Mary Margaret is seated, third from
right. Other children, not necessarily in this order, are William, Thomas J.,
Andrew J., Lucinda, Jewell, John L., Reuben, George Franklin, James Madison,
Charles, Joseph Sephus and Maude. Children Rosa May and Benjamin were born after
this photo was taken. The family home was in Daviess County, south of Gallatin.
