  Can't find Greasy Creek, Fourmile Cemetery or Benton Branch school on your map? The US Geological Survey's Geographic Names Information System (GNIS) site finds 385 locations in Dallas County. To get a map, click on the Feature Name. On the results page you have the option to display a topographic map or arial photo from TerraServer. The Tiger Map option puts a red dot on a map where the feature is located.

• Land Patents: 1831 - 1910
  Land patents issued by the state. These include swamp land (any land subject to flooding) which the state bought cheaply and sold to citizens, and Township School Land which was land in section 16 of every survey township donated to the state to raise money to build schools and pay teachers. You can search on name, legal land description, or county. For all land in Dallas County use this shortcut.
