DR. A. R. BLACK DIED HERE YESTERDAY
WAS BORN IN CLARK COUNTY, MISSOURI, AND HAS EVER BEEN HIS HOME-WAS ABLE PHYSICIAN AND GOOD CITIZEN.

The fateful messenger of death came at an early hour yesterday morning and claimed Dr. A. R. Black, one of our able physicians and very highly respected citizen.
Deceased was born Dec. 16, 1850, in Clark county, Mo., on the banks of the Wyaconda. He was a son of Henry and Malinda (Foree) Black. His parents were natives respectively of Virginia and Kentucky, and settled in Clark county at an early date, spending their last days in Union township. Deceased was educated at Elcelsior College, Alexandria, MO., under the instruction of Rev. T. J. Musgrove. At the age of 21 (1871) he began the study of medicine and graduated in 1875 and established himself at Winchester, Mo.,(today map show a Winchester as a city south of Wayland Missouri about 7 miles on Highway 61.) where for many years he had a large practice, Later he moved to Wayland, Mo. On Sept. 1875, he was united in marriage to Terresa Wolf, now deceased. He later married Miss Nellie Jenkins who died a few years ago while they lived at Wayland. He moved to Kahoka several years ago and later married Mrs. May Rowe, of near Wayland, and who survives. He was a member of the Masonic fraternity and belonged to the Baptist Church. He died at his home in Kahoka, Mo., Jan. 3, 1924 at 5 o'clock.
The funeral will be held from the Baptist church in Kahoka, Saturday, at 1 P. M. and burial in Frazee cemetery. Besides a bereaved wife he leaves one brother, Lee Black, of Wyaconda, and a sister, Mrs. Wm. Smith, of Medill, Mo., and a very wide circle of friends who deeply mourn his death.
