Text | Mrs. Emma Jane Young, 97, who had lived in Pierce City 90 years, died at 2:35 p.m. Friday, August 27, 1976, at St. Vincent's Hospital in Monett, following a six-week illiness. Mrs. Young was born in Bowling Green, Kentucky, August 26, 1879. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Pierce City. Surviving are two sons, Floyd and Joe; both of Pierce City; five daughters, Mrs. Gertie Morgan, Pierce City, Mrs. Clara Dietrich, Monett, Mrs. Alma Massey, Sarcoxie, and Mrs. Ruby Johnson and Mrs. Gladys Bobski, both of Pierce City; a sister, Mrs. Georgia Hunt, Parsons, Kansas; 39 grandchildren and 100 great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 2 p.m. today at the Wessell Funeral Home in Pierce City. The Rev. Glenn Dixon and the Rev. Troy Payne will officiate. Burial will be in the Pierce City Cemetery. |
