Text | Mary A. Norris was born in Jackson County, Missouri, March 21, 1864. Died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Owen Stephenson, near Mano, Barry County, January 20th, 1934. She was united in marriage to Joseph Worthey, April 4, 1881. To this union eight children were born, three having preceded her in death. Those living are Mrs. Nettie Layton of Tulsa, Okla., Mrs. Rosie Stephenson of Mano, Mrs. Ellen Marxin of Kansas City, Kan., Joseph Worthey of independence, Mo., and Howard Worthey of Kansas City, Kan. Her husband died September 3, 1933. Besides her children, she is survived by twenty-seven grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren one brother of Sheldon, Mo., and a host of friends and neighbors in the Mano community and also in her home town of Kansas City. Mrs. Worthy was converted early in life and lived a true Christian life. Funeral services were held at the Mano church on Sunday afternoon, January 21, 1934 by Rev. Chas Vanzandt. Burial was in the Mano cemetery, under the direction of the Horine-Culver Undertaking Service.
