Text | #1. Hazel Ruth Wormington, 90, of Monett, died at 12:50 a.m. yesterday, April 22, at Lacoba Nursing Home in Monett. Mrs. Wormington was born June 4, 1916, in Exeter, the daughter of James and Flossie (Sapp) Linebarger. She worked at Purdy Farm Center and had retired from her own beauty shop in Purdy. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Purdy, Lee Extension Club, Women's Missionary Union, Girls Auxiliary, and was a 4-H leader. She married Ermol Wormington on June 26, 1938, in Purdy, and he preceded her in death in January of 2001. Survivors include one son, of Purdy; one daughter, of Purdy; one sister, of Purdy; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Kermit and Eddy Linebarger; and one sister, Mary Gover. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 25, at the First Baptist Church in Purdy with Rev. Tony Martin officiating. Burial will be in Purdy Cemetery under the direction of Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home of Monett. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. tomorrow, April 24, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Purdy Cemetery or New Site Cemetery. #2. Services for Hazel Ruth Wormington, 90, of Monett, who died April 22, were held at 10 a.m. yesterday, April 25, at the First Baptist Church in Purdy with Rev. Tony Martin officiating. Music included Amazing Grace and Near To The Heart Of God. Pianist was Robert Jones and song leader was Charlie Garrison. Casketbearers were Newton Pierce, Kippy Culler, David Bennett, Elwyn Holder, Travis Wormington, and Gene Francisco. Honorary casketbearers were Eldon Skinner, Charlie Garrison, Bill Kenny, Morris Henderson, and Jerry Harter. Burial was in Purdy Cemetery under the direction of Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home of Monett. |
