Obit For Herbert Edward "Eddie" Winter, Jr.

Text Herbert Edward "Eddie" Winter Jr., 80, of Washburn died March 28, 2002 at Northwest Medical Center in Springdale. He was born Oct. 24, 1921, in Bar Harbor, Maine, to Herbert Edward and Mary (Edward) (Milliken) Winter. He was a Navy veteran, serving as a gunner's mate 3rd class aboard the USS Brooklyn. He was a self-employed painter and a life member of the International Brotherhood of Painters & Allied Trades. He enjoyed gardening, reading and working with cattle and guard dogs. He was a nondenominational church member. He was also a member of the Disabled American Veterans organization.

His wife, Mamie Lucille Snow Winter, died on March 24, 1983. Survivors include three daughters; seven grandchildren; nine great- grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Sisco Chapel Funeral Home in Pea Ridge. Burial will be in Antioch Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted by VFW Post 9063 of Bella Vista. Visitation will be from 1 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
