Text | Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock yesterday afternoon in the Buchanan Chapel for A. Onis Williams, 82, retired Monett stockman, who died at his home here Sunday. Rev. Winford Davis and Rev. O. D. Samuel officiated at the final rites. Music was furnished by the Davis Quartet composed of Mrs. Lawrence Davis, Jerry Davis, Ralph Davis and Carl stark, who sang "Heaven Will Surely Be Worth It All", "Glad Reunion Day", and "I Bowed On My Knees and Cried Holy". Mrs. Burl Thomas, Jr., accompanied at the organ. Pallbearers were Harold Rooney, James Crane, George Groh, Lyle Black, Leo Turner and Sam Williams. Burial was in the Bethel cemetery southeast of Monett under direction of the Buchanan Funeral Home. Out of town relatives and friends attending the services included Mr. and Mrs. Tom Dievert and family of Garden Grove, Calif.; Mr. and Mrs. Harlan McCoy of Memphis, Tenn.; Mrs. Oliver Williams and Sam Williams of Brookfield Mo.; Mrs. Kirk Carlin of Springfield; L. H. Coggin of Republic; Rev. and Mrs. C. E. Henderson of Cassville; and Rev. Fred Cunningham of Aurora. Research Note: Bethel Cemetery burial records indicate that he was born Dec. 26, 1882 and died June 30, 1965. |
