Text | Edna Williams, age 95, of Verona, died at 9:25 p.m. yesterday, April 3, at Cox Monett Hospital following a brief illness. Mrs. Williams was born October 26, 1911, in Verona, and was a daughter of Thomas and Martha (Bennett) Marbut. She was a homemaker and a member of Macedonia Free Will Baptist Church. She married Lawrence J. Williams on December 23, 1946, and he preceded her in death in 1998. Survivors include three sons, one sister, of Marionville; seven grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Martha Allen, in 1961. Services will be 2:30 p.m. Friday, April 6, at Bennett-Wormington Chapel in Monett with Rev. Lee Neill officiating. Casketbearers were Kenneth Dodson, Dannie Byrd, Doug Tudor, Dennis Hightower, Dannie Starforth, and Gaylon Henderson. Burial was in Calton Cemetery in Verona under the direction of Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home of Monett. |
