Text | Darrell Lynn Williams, 73, of Hermitage, Tenn., passed away on Monday, Feb. 3, 2014, in Trevecca Health Care Center in Nashville, Tenn.
He was born May 6, 1940, in Seligman, the son of Opal and Hazel V. (Lawson) Williams. On Nov.18, 1960, in Seligman, he was united in marriage to Cathey Larkin, the daughter of the late Tim and Olive Larkin. Survivors include: his wife, Cathey; one son, Lynn Williams; and one grandson, both of Nashville, Tenn.; four brothers, Doyle Williams, of Colorado Springs, Colo., Pharis Williams, of Sun City West, Ariz., Knial Williams, of Seligman, and Norris Williams, of Pea Ridge, Ark.; and one sister, Ramona Fletcher, of Seligman. Preceding him in death were his parents; grandparents, Wyatt and Belle Lawson and Amos and Clara Williams and one brother, Kevin Williams. He grew up in Seligman and was a 1958 graduate of Southwest High School. Before moving to Tennessee, he worked for Webb's Butane Service, Tasty Kraft Dairy, Purdy, and Springdale Farms, living in Miami, Okla., and Springfield, during those years. On Aug. 21, 1967, he began working for Consolidated Freightways as an over the road truck driver, retiring in September 2002. He was a member of Hickory Hollow Baptist Church in Antioch, Tenn., where he served as a deacon. Funeral services were held Saturday in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Burial was at King Cemetery, Seligman. |
