Abstract Dorothy L. Williams, 88, of Monett, died at 6 p.m. yesterday, August 7, at Lacoba Nursing Home in Monett. Mrs. Williams was born August 6, 1925, in Aurora, the daughter of Sam and Bertha McCaslin Shaffer. She was a retired cook and attended First Baptist Church in Monett. She married James Pete Williams on January 19, 1973, in Miami, Oklahoma, and he preceded her in death May 2, 2001. Survivors include one son of Pierce City; three step-sons of Aurora, of Neosho, and of Licking; four daughters, of Harrisonville, of Rich Hill, of Carthage, and of Monett; one step-daughter, of Moline, Illinois; five sisters all of Monett; and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, Carl Suttles and Wayne Stricklin; and one brother, George Shaffer. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday, August 10, at Bennett-Wormington Chapel in Monett. Burial will be in Monett IOOF Cemetery under the direction of Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home of Monett. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. tomorrow, August 9, at the funeral home. |
