| Text | Abstract Lottie M. Whittington, age 104, of Pierce City, died April 23 at Monett Health Care Center. Mrs. Whittington was born April 22, 1901, in Purdy, and was a daughter of William and Ada (Strother) Higgs. She and her husband owned and operated Whittington Candy Company for many years. She was married to Jim Whittington, and he preceded her in death May 3, 1989. Survivors include one sister, Toots Lane of Monett; two grandchildren, of Nevada and of Pierce City; six great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at a later date at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery near Butterfield under the direction of Lakin Funeral Home of Pierce City. |
