Text | James E. Whitsell died at his home five miles north of West Plains, Mo., May 23, 1918, age 64 years and 10 months. He lived in Barry County, east in Cassville, several years, moving to north Missouri in 1908, living there until about three years ago when he moved to Howell County for his health. His death was due to heart trouble. He is survived by a wife Mrs. S. E. Whitsell and son Henry, and a daughter Mrs. Chas. Bradley of West Plains, son Jesse of Kansas City and daughter Mrs. Ellen Hutchens of Elmira also two sisters D. C. Sharp of Elmira and Mrs. Mary Cooper of Lawson. Interment was made May 25 at the Elmira cemetery following funeral services conducted by long-time friend S. H. Martin. For days and nights we watched with care For him we did our best But now he is sleeping in his grave His spirit is at rest By a friend |
