Text | Sherwood C. White a former citizen of Cassville died at Cedarvale N.M., Dec. 28. He had been in failing health for the past few years. Late in the fall he went to Texas and later to New Mexico in search of improved health. At one time he had written back home that he was improving and seemed to be greatly encouraged. He maintained hope of recovery until the last. He was born in Linn county in 1861 and lived for a number of years in Jasper county. Several years ago he moved to Cassville and bought the mill which he operated for a while. Since selling the mill he had lived most of the time on a farm east of Cassville. He leaves widow and five children. A brother Walker White, and a sister, Mrs. Evaline King, live in Cassville. George White went to Cedarvale to look after the interment of his father's body. It was Mr. White's request to be buried in Cedarvale. The people of this city extend their sympathy to the members of the family in their bereavement. Research Note: According to the LDS Ancestral File, Sherwood Christopher White was born July 11, 1861 in Osage County, Missouri. He married Amelia Poncot September 4, 1888 in Carthage, Missouri and died December 28, 1911 in Cedarvale, New Mexico. Sherwood C. White 1861 - 1911 |
