Text | Katie Maye Weston Katie Maye Weston passed away at the home of her father, Henry Weston on Washburn Prairie, Saturday night at 8:30 p.m. of a complication of diseases. She and her twin sister. Lillie Faye, were born December 21st, 1905 at the same place she died, at the age of 19 years, 2 months and 17 days. She had been sick since last November with throat trouble. She is survived by the father, sister, brother and grandmother Mrs. N. S. Burley of Purdy, who did all for her during her sickness, that loving hands could do, which should be a great consolation to the bereaved ones. The mother, Mrs. Florence (Daugherty) Weston, preceded her in death, November 21, 1921. She was a dear loveable girl and her life will be long be remembered by her many loved ones and friends. Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon at the Washburn Prairie church by Rev. C. M. Smith. Six girl chums, Misses Mary Daugherty, Marjorie Longley, Beatrice Weston, Mary Jayne Daugherty, Edit and Glea Thomas, acted as pallbearers. Eula Thomas and Ruby Smith flower girls. A very large crowd of loving and sympathizing friends attended the funeral. The casket was covered with beautiful flowers, which were an emblem of the life of the deceased. The bereaved families have the sympathy of their many friends. Bradford Undertakers of Cassville in charge. |
